George Barker Muschamp was born at Little Garden Street, Leeds, Yorkshire in England on 9 May 1847

G.B. Muschamp married Sarah Walker and they had 11 children 
Lorenzo De Castino was born at Sheepscar Green, Leeds, Yorkshire in England on 14 April 1874.

The Muschamp family, with four children (Lorenzo De Castino only 4 weeks old) immigrated to New Zealand in 1874.
They traveled on the Cathcart and arrived at Littelton Harbour at 29 August 1874. Brothers and sisters of George Barker (unlcles and aunts) to Lorenzo De Castino also immigrated to New Zealand in the same period.

Sarah Walker passed away on 9 November 1884.
George Barker Muschamp remarried Hannah Bucket who died on 1 February 1903
L.D.C. Muschamp married Mary Elizabeth Coker in 1915 (a year after the house was finished); they had no children.

George Barker died at the age of 79 on 13 July 1926 in 109 Barbourstreet, Linwood, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Mary Elizabeth passed away on 7 September 1955
Lorenzo De Castino passed away on 30 July 1962 at the age of 88.

The (De) Muschamp ancestry goes back to 1066 when a (De) Muschamp companions William the Conqueror.
Family history shows that initially the Muschamps came from Normandy in France.
