34 Exterior window

Additional to working other joinery I started work on one original double-sash window to get a feel for it.
By working one window I got confirmation that the sash windows can be retrofitted with double glazing.

Four new sash windows will need to be built as per the original (refer to paragraph 9 and 17),
I therefore was also interested in having a look at the timber profiles and feature elements (pulleys, locks etc.) so I could start sourcing materials.

Matching pulleys are hard to find; especially when 16 off (4 pulleys per window) are needed.
A wee while ago I fortunately found the rare lot on Trademe.

The little Bathroom cupboard and the little bathroom window were also done as additional jobs just to keep the ball rolling.

Four new front windows versus drawings:
Tim had been helping deconstructing part of the outbuilding (refer to paragraph 14)
As we went on, Tim introduced me to his project; the conversion of a former Church into a dwelling and a timber workshop.
While discussing the projects the idea was born to swop some of our specialties.
As compensation for “Definite Design” drawings and “Consent Documentation” for his church, Tim is going to build the four missing double sash windows for house Muschamp.
It is a time for time swop and me providing Tim with the materials for the windows is part of the deal.
